Areteem’s Math Challenge curriculum is based on our 20 years experience teaching upper elementary school, middle school, and high school students. Whether you’re looking to start your math journey with conceptual understanding and problem solving, or looking to improve on math contests such as AMC 8, MATHCOUNTS, AMC 10/12, AIME, USA(J)MO, or ZIML, there’s a Math Challenge Level for you!

All Math Challenge Live Courses meet weekly with interactive sessions via Zoom with Areteem instructors. After the live class, students work on and submit homework to practice and learn. Click on a course below for more information and registration.

Current Math Challenge Instruction Team (subject to change):

  • Dr. Kevin Wang (MC IV), Areteem’s Academic Director and Co-Founder. Dr. Kevin is an experienced instructor and coach, with experience in both academia and industry. He has coached many students to the highest levels of math competitions, such as MATHCOUNTS and USAMO, and is a former China Team member for the International Mathematical Olympiad.
  • Ms. Leah (MC I-A, MC I-B, and MC I-C), lifelong math educator and online instructor. Ms. Leah is a dedicated instructor with years of experience in both school classrooms and online math coaching, who strives to bring out the best in each and every one of her students.
  • Mr. Brian (MC II-B & MC III), math coach and online educator. Mr. Brian is an experienced math coach and instructor. Whether teaching online or in person, he savors the opportunity to help students grow in their math journey.
  • Mr. Reza (MC II-A), math coach and online educator. Mr. Reza is a passionate math instructor and educator.  He enjoys teaching and learning mathematics and loves to share his passion for math with students.

Math Challenge I-A

Class Time: Tuesdays from 4:30-6:00pm Pacific (7:30-9:00pm Eastern)

Summer Class Dates: 6/2, 6/9, 6/16, 6/23, 7/7, 7/14, 7/21, 7/28, 8/4, 8/11.

Level: Middle School, AMC 8, MATHCOUNTS, ZIML Div. M

Summer Subject: Pre-Algebra and Word Problems

Math Challenge I-B

Live Math Challenge I-B has been combined with Math Challenge I-A (above) which covers the same content.

Math Challenge I-C

Class Time: Thursdays from 4:30-5:30pm Pacific (7:30-8:30pm Eastern)

Summer Class Dates: 6/4, 6/11, 6/18, 6/25, 7/9, 7/16, 7/23, 7/30, 8/6, 8/13.

Note: This course is a blended learning class, with pre-recorded videos and weekly live question and answer sessions to review homework.

Level: Middle School to High School, Advanced AMC 8 and beginning AMC 10, MATHCOUNTS, ZIML Div. H

Math Challenge II-A

Class Time: Wednesdays from 4:30-6:00pm Pacific (7:30-9:00pm Eastern)

Summer Class Dates: 6/3, 6/10, 6/17, 6/24, 7/8, 7/15, 7/22, 7/29, 8/5, 8/12.

Level: High School, AMC 10 and beginning AMC 12, ZIML Junior Varsity

Summer Subject: Algebra

Math Challenge II-B

Class Time: Saturdays from 10:45am-12:15pm Pacific (1:45-3:15pm Eastern)

Summer Class Dates: 6/6, 6/13, 6/20, 6/27, 7/11, 7/18, 7/25, 8/1, 8/8, 8/15.

Level: High School, AMC 12, ZIML Junior Varsity

Class Time: Sundays from 9:00-10:30am Pacific (12:00-1:30pm Eastern)

Level: Advanced High School, AMC 12 and AIME, ZIML Varsity

Level: Math Olympiad Advanced High School, USA(J)MO, ZIML Varsity
